In professional settings, massage therapy clients are treated while lying comfortably on a massage table or sitting in a massage chair. Various medicated massage oils are used to aid in muscle relaxation.
In our practice, we use custom prepared medication creams, gels, and ointments to provide pain relief and muscle relaxation. Our staff pharmacists prepare fresh creams and ointments on a weekly basis, and, typically, these creams and ointments consists of anti-inflammatory medicines, muscle relaxers, local anesthetics, and neuropathic pain relieving medications.
Massage therapy is provided in an integrated multidisciplinary model utilizing various other therapies, modalities in addition to myofascial release, trigger point release and trigger point injections to optimize recovery and manage chronic painful musculo skeletal conditions.
