Opiate Addiction Counselor & AcuDetox Provider
Outpatient is the best setting for ongoing counseling to manage chronic pain, opiate dependence, and illicit drug addiction. Slow detoxification in a controlled environment is only the beginning of a long-term battle against dependence and avoid relapses.
Counseling is an integral of treatment. Cognitive-behavioral therapy and many other types of therapy approaches help patients to recover quickly and stay sober.
Even after weaning down or detox, and physical dependence cured, most patients with opiate addiction are at high risk for relapse. Psychological and social factors are often powerful stimuli for drug abuse and relapse. Counseling helps to escape craving and learn to cope with life without using illicit drugs.
One-on-one individual therapy, offered in our practice in an integrated multidisciplinary setting, provides a good chance for recovery. Individual therapy is also helpful in cases where patients are suffering from coexisting depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD.
Auriculotherapy/ Acupuncture Detox
Ear acupuncture points have been used for many years. Auricular acupuncture/acupressure protocols are used in conjunction with behavioral health to treat addiction and to limit withdrawal symptoms.
